Hi Y'all, do you guys have any experience deer hunting with a Ruger Old Army fitted with a Kirst conversion cylinder and .45 Long Colt Ammo? How effective is this set up? And also, whats the strongest ammo you guys used with this? What is the best/strongest brand out there that is safe with this set up?

Thanks in Advance!!!

I have killed deer with a 45 colt before. 250 grain with velocity of apx 850 fps.

Although it worked, it wasn't all that impressive.

Best of luck to you.

Couldn't get in touch with Kirst..

Hello Art, thanks for the advice. I tried to find out where I can get in touch with kirst, but there is no information on their website, or otherwise. I can't get in touch with this guy, or anybody from his company to ask questions, and it is really crazy.. I wish I could get some more guidance about this subject, I'm sure I'm not the only one who has the burning questions for this. Thank You.,
