This blade is a departure for me. Most of my knives are tailored for the "Buckskinners" among us. I wanted to try something different and here it is. I have posted this knife on some other forums so if you have seen it already please forgive the redundancy. I forged the blade from an old leaf spring of dubious origin. The handle is wrapped with red and brown 550 paracord. In an emergency you have about 20 feet of paracord for use. I have seen some makers coat their cord wrapping with varnish or epoxy but then it is there permanently. The jury is still out on whether or not I like the paracord for a handle. I may go with micarta on the next one. Now I need to think up a sheath style/material. Thanks for looking.

I like it. Clean lines and utititarian design.

Has a wow factor of 10!

Cant help but wonder what it would look like with a horn scale.

Lovely blade. It's crying out for stag or white bone scales. I could see it sheathed in leather trimmed with rattlesnake hide - - preferably Eastern Diamondback.

maybe some jeancarta for a handle something about that knife screams for blue on it. i would have said some kind of turquoise and bone combo i've never actually seen a turquoise inlay I like. Also, i think it look nice with a simple leather sheath dyed oxblood .... just my 2 cents

I like what I see... with this level of skill you need to build more. The skill level of knifemakers in our country is great stuff for anyone that uses or appreciates good blades.

I really like it! I bet with the lightweight cord wrap the balance is just forward of the grip. It looks like it should be a great all around use knife...chopping, poking, and slicing.

I'm not a traditionalist at all so some matte G10 or even micarta would be right up my alley.

Heck, I think if this were smaller it would work great, in the same shape. Actually...how big is it?

Good job.

that is very nice. i personally love wrapped handles. always have. good stuff.

I already commented on another forum, but I like that knife enough to do it again. I really like that blade shape. I would really like to see one done up with some nice wood or stag handle material. Very nice work.

The old school blade finish and the modern paracord handle don't really "go" together, BUT, I would have no problems leaving it as it is. I think it would be a great knife for hiking/camping, and will stay light in the hand (or on the hip/pack) since it has a nice slim yet grippy handle.

I most definitely like the blade design but not so much the paracord handles. I think I would rather see a more traditional wood or stag handle with that particular blade.
