if brass goes through gas port so should lead,
The copper jackets should not be going through the gas port. Only gas should be in there, and not lead vapor laden gasses. As the gas cools it vapor deposits the lead onto the surface of the barrel tube.

Have you shot lead bullets through your Eagle, @braumair?

soak in lead dissolvent now and again?
Such as Mercury? Or the highly toxic, skin absorbable Lead acetate made with acetic acid and H2o2?
What dissolves lead?

really want to get a 10" barrel for a couple but hard to say up here in canada, when that available

I haven’t seen them made in years and with Kahrs purchase of Magnum Research I doubt them being made again, unfortunately. If you do find one, buy it! I’ve been looking for a ten fifty for a while. They are collector priced.
I passed a twelve fifty in a shop before I had an Eagle. These are more rare than Antarctic Hens teeth, and worth more than some children nowadays.:D

Your being in Canada does present an unknown with me.
Seems a shame we are not able to cross the border (either direction) to buy stuff.
Most of you do speak English up there (of a fashion) after all.;);)

Here's an older photo showing some of my 10" versions.
CC from the bottom- .357, .41, .44 , 50, and the .440 barrel.
The .44 MKI had an atrocious gritty and creepy trigger pull, so I used one of my Austin Behlert drop-in ring hammers
to clean it up and bring the pull to just over 4 1/2 lbs.

I routinely shoot the 10" barreled guns more than the 6" or the 14". They balance better for me
and I really like the lack of excessive muzzle flash.
I'm also a big fan of the Millett sights for having the guns shoot to the POA.

The skeleton Gould & Goodrich holsters made for the DE allow for a reasonably fast draw without having your
hand come up to your chin when drawing the 10".

Always good to hear from a DE shooting aficionado.
I remember thinking when Magnum Research started bringing out the crazy finishes that I had best lay in a supply of spare parts
because I figured any company that would resort to such gimmicks MUST be on their way out of business.
So much for what I know!

LOL. I When I bought my .440 barrel (clearly marked and shown in the photos) off E***y, the buy it now price was
way less than half price of a used DE
and it had 20+ watchers!
What were they waiting for, a price drop?

Here you go. Someone was selling this one on Gunbroker some years ago. They were asking more than I was willing to spend, but I snagged a picture of it.

Wish I had seen it!
And by the by, I snagged your pic too.
Back in the mid 80's after the .44 came out I contacted MR about making a 16" barreled carbine version and/or to talk to the Israelis
about making the barrel with a split bolt-on gas system (sealed with replaceable aircraft o-rings) that would allow for cleaning
lead deposits.
Never heard back.

I don't shoot lead in mine, but have had no problems with Berry plated nuggets. When I first got my DE, I was so excited to shoot it, that I went out to the back deck range, and installed the 44mag barrel, and let loose with some of the 200gr lead with 2400, that I had loaded for my Super Redhawk. No leading and was a blast, but then thought better, cleaned the gun up pretty good, and got to work loaded the Berry coated instead.

This is why I'm here. Plated 350gr from Berry's. I'm wondering if 29gr H110 would work alright or if it would just be a trip to the gunsmith and then the hospital. The link is there for anyone curious to try a humble box of 500. I'd like to get in on it myself, but I want to confirm some data. I hate getting stuck with components I cannot use like the FTX 300gr for S&W500. Thought they might work in a Desert Eagle. They would be seated too long for the magazine. So did that recipe work out for the XTP's in 350gr or did anyone find a better place to start?

I emailed the company back in 2019, October. They said most assuredly that they would be doing a run of 10" barrels by December IIRC. The pandemic got in everyone's way and I didn't expect them to stay on schedule, but I was hoping they might have done them by the next year.
No one asked, I know, but I inquired about double stacks and extended mags. They're not gonna. FYI, to whom it may concern, etc.
