Desert Eagle: Not a Combat Weapon

I read a few years ago that the military was doing allot of head turning with troops carrying their own personal side arms. That be the case, it is not beyond reason to suggest that some people may have brought Desert Eagles with them.

Can tell you this from experience. In Nam in the bush, I carried a 45 cal grease gun, my Gunny carried a pump shotgun with slugs. That was because we looked the other way, till orders came from the top to gather up all unauthorized weapons.

Some people just party poopers:)

While my Eagle would most certainly not be my first choice for a combat handgun, I wouldn't feel inadequately armed with it. It really isn't difficult to place aimed shots in rapid fire, and those 325 grain pills are going to do a great deal of damage to whatever they hit.

And I do hunt big game with mine. It is an extremely accurate pistol.

However, if I were called to combat, I would choose a ore practical sidearm like my S&W 1006.
