I own a browning bps and a winchester 1300. Winchester owners manual shows how to strip down and clean the shotgun. The Browning owners manual basically tells you to take it to a gunsmith. Is it really that hard?

It's "not that hard"; you just have to get the action bars in correctly- something that is "that hard". Mostly details holding your tongue right. It is a pain the first few times, but if I can do it~ anyone can.

Try this website: www.msduckmen.com

Scroll down to gun maintenance and go from there. You don't have to go as far as this gunsmith has, but gives you a general idea of what is entailed. If your not mechanically inclined I don't reccomend trying this.

Don't do it, just hose it out with some brake cleaner and lube it up again.

I have detail stripped most every shotgun out there but the BPS convinced me to just hose it out and re-oil. It is a ROYAL PITA.
