Well, as my last thread states, I just bought a Python. Now, I'd like to figure out how old it is... I know it's of vintage manufacture, but I don't know exactly. Can someone help me determine its age?
It doesn't have a serial number like those I'm use to...simple a 5 digit number...74XXX
Thanks for the help in advanced ;)

You can give Colt a call and they will tell on the phone when it was made. This is free. If you want a certificate they charge a small fee for that. it includes the date of manufacture, the distributor and other info. I don't have a certificate for any of my Colts but do have the date of manufacture for them. Give them a call, they are very friendly people there.

My little book shows that in 1968 the first one built was serial number 73800. In 1969 the first one built was 90000. So, I would age yours to of been built in Jan-Feb time frame of 1968.

Enjoy
