I recently purchased a Colt Python 2.5" and the serial# range is:300XX. Could someone tell the year of manufacture. I have shot several Pythons but none had the smoothness of action as this one! SO I BOUGHT IT!
For once I thought I would own the finest of something. At my age I'll never own a Rolls or wear a Rolex. :) :)

Thanks for your help.

If I need a revolver to shoot I continue to shoot my Mountian Revolver in 44 for brush application and my SP 101 for town carry.

ewb45acp: Thanks for the info. I knew it had to be an older one. I've shot it a few times and it's very accurate and now I know what shooters mean when they talk about the perfection of the single action stroke on a Python.

Hey Wolf,
I was thinkin' the same thing when I read that post.
I'm glad you did it.;)

My Python..

:D Wife bought me mine new in 1976. Finest revolver I have ever shot. There to expensive for me now as I spent about 2yrs looking for a 4" barrel model with in reason. Cheapest I found was a $700 one. Yea right. I been offered $1,000 for mine. Thanks, but no thanks. I found a S&W model 19-4 for $350 instead and I am just as happy now with it. Both trigger actions are smooth as silk, and they hit where you point them. Here's a picture.:)
