I know there is the LimbSaver recoil pads, but I'm wondering if anyone ever created a stock that was spring-buffered, like maybe the butt was a cap tha fit over the end of the stock and was cushioned with springs.

The Knoxx Specops stocks use springs to reduce recoil. Although some people say the stock slaps your cheek really bad.

The Chinese made Savage pump has a spring loaded butt plate. Comes that way from the factory.

Winchester offered a recoil reducing stock in the sixties called, I think, the Hydro-Coil. 1200/1400 models had it.

Yes, I have a Mod 1200, bored Mod, with the Hydra Coil stock. Bought it in Crete in 1972 for $75 at the USAF rod and gun club. The club was a "Remington" club and the custodian screwed up and bought a Win 1200. I love it, I can shoot 3-4 rounds of trap and be ready to go again, the others are rubbing their shoulders and want to go to the clubhouse for a beer.

Knoxx now Blackhawk! has several. Mesa tactical, too. I own an old Cop Stock. Great for its intended use as compact truck gun and tbe recoil reduction is real. That said, mesa ta ticals system looks siperior.

Another vote for the Knoxx. I put the NRS (non recoil suppression) on my Remington 870 and that reduced the recoil plenty.
