So my girlfriends father decided he wanted a .243 for her to use. She said that no one asked her opinion that she didn't know until after he had already traded and she seems to think he got ripped off also not to mention she says she doesn't need a gun. Anyway, he traded a nice looking Ruger lever action in .44 magnum. I'm not sure of the model number but it was a Ruger lever action 44 magnum rifle. I didn't look inside the barrel but on the outside it was in very very nice shape. It had a scope on it but the scope wasn't much. I can't remember if it was a Simmons or Tasco or what but it was something cheap like that. I want to think a Tasco but it may have been Simmons.
Anyway, he traded it straight up for a NEF Handi Rifle .243 single shot with a Tasco scope on it. It does have a wood stock The rifle while it looks okay basically looks like a single shot you'd find on a used rack somewhere for $150 or so imo. I checked and WalMart and they had one identical only maybe a different scope for right under $300.
So did he get ripped off in this trade as bad as I think he did? Or was it an ok deal? From what I've been seeing I'm thinking the Ruger was more like a $600 gun while this thing is more like a $200 gun but my prices may be off as I haven't seen a ton of either for sale.
