Today I delved for the first time into the world of double action revolvers. A gun shop I frequent had a very nice S&W model 10-6 in 38 special s/n 4243x
it has a heavy barrel, very good blueing ( only 2 wear marks at the muzzle). It seems nice and tight and has a much better trigger then my Ruger Blackhawks I asked the salesperson what the price was she said $179.00 it did not take me long to get the cash out of my wallet. My son and I can't wait until tomorrow

Awesome. I love my 10-6 HB. Good price. Heck, very good price. If I luck into a deal like that, I'll have two M 10 heavy barrels.

You're kidding, right? I would say you stole that S&W. Older Smiths seem to be increasing in value at a very rapid pace. Deals like that don't seem to come around very often. Model 10s are going for $250.00 to $400.00 in my area.

I asked the salesperson what the price was she said $179.00

Gee whiz! That sounds like an outstanding deal! Congratulations!

We should get the word out that all revolvers are terrible and that their owners should immediately sell them to the nearest gunshop, even if they only get $25. Think of the great deals we could get!

But I'm only joking...

mostly.

:D

You did very well. The last time I saw a price like that on a Model 10 in that condition was about three years ago. Even then, it was unusual, and in most parts of the country, fair condition Model 10s started at about $225-250.

Welcome to the wheelgun world. My Model 10 is my favorite gun. NYPD used them forever before their mistake (my opinion) of moving to 9 mm semis. Jim Cirillo, the famous NYPD Stakeout Squad gunfighter made some spectacular shots with his Model 10's.
