I know Ruger makes a vaquero 45 colt with the 3.75" barrel and a super Blackhawk 44 mag with the 3.75" barrel, but have they ever made a Blackhawk 45 colt with a 3.75" (or smaller) barrel? I would like a large frame (not new model vaquero) 45 colt short barrel Ruger SA

No but I know of a gunsmith or two that can make that happen for you. ;)

I know it is a hard question to answer since it can vary by gunsmith, but do you have a ballpark idea of what it might cost to get one cut down?

I like to use Jim Stroh as an example because he has a very comprehensive price list and it's easy to figure out what everything costs. Jim is a master of his craft but his work is competitive, although others 'may' be a bit cheaper.

Shorten barrel $84.
Custom front sight with removable blades - $140.

He can remount the factory front sight but it requires refinishing and that's not cheap. His custom front sight is the best looking on the market and uses three hidden screws so refinishing is not required. He can cold blue the crown.

This is the one-piece with ramp but the screw-on version utilizes removable blackened blades.
