Since the 0-25lb Timney was out of stock and I figured a 0-8lb wouldn't do the DA's... did the next best thing!

So with my deluxe WalMart baggage trigger gauge I pulled them all! Here are the averages as scientific as I could get:

10mm EAA Witness Elite Match Semi SA Only - 2.25lbs Yup she is too low!
10mm EAA Witness Hunter Semi SA Only - 4.8lbs About where the Match should be (4-5lb range)
10mm Smith and Wesson 1006 Semi DA/SA - 13.5lbs DA/ 7.5lbs SA No wonder it is the hardest 10mm to shoot!
10mm Dan Wesson Razorback 1911 Semi SA Only - 3.5lbs About perfect!
9mm Springfield XD9 Semi Striker Fired - 5.5lbs Moderate
.22LR Ruger Mark III Target Semi SA Only - 2.75lbs I wonder why people do trigger jobs on these?
.44 Magnum Ruger Redhawk Revolver DA/SA - 12.5lbs DA/ 5.25lbs SA Not bad for a gun this size I guess
.357 Magnum Ruger GP100 Revolver DA/SA - 10.5lbs DA/ 3.5lbs SA Pretty sweet for a revolver!

Let me know if anyone else has done any of these. My Match is out of service until I can bend the spring or order a new one.

Man it's pretty darn light. Me personally I like the 3.5 range the Razorback has. This is like a hair trigger and I know it's due to some wear of the spring or something. I let another fellow shooter with a Kimber 1911 shoot it the other day and he was a little caught off guard too. He said it was a little low so I wanted to check it.

I agree. Is it that tough to actually type in exactly what you're shooting? I'm very interested to know what guns you used, but unwilling to play games to find out.

intercooler,

trigger jobs are done on the ruger mkIII to eliminate take-up and over-travel. trigger pull and let-off are pretty good, on that one, right out of the box.

Back when I was a Deputy Sheriff, the minimum for a duty piece was 2.5 lbs. My Series 70 1911 was 2.75 - the armorer checked it four times, had me qualify with it, and checked it twice more. He was surprised how little 2.75 was - and kinda pissy about it. It inspired him to petition the Sheriff to change the policy to 3.5lbs, which they did a month later, so that became a range-only gun for me. My next duty gun had a very consistent 4.5 lb pull.

Everyone has a comfort level. With the Witness style guns the trigger has some play left to right and if you ask Henning (Witness part developer) that is the reason the flat trigger exists in his lineup. He had a ND of a Witness and got shot in the foot, the only one he ever did. We make sure to point it in the safe direction but this light you could possibly tap it and be in a bad way.
