so theres a Beretta 92fs, m9, 92fs B.A.T.S., american made, italian made, INOX, the list probably goes on. Can someone try and explain some differences between these guns, if any?

if i remember correctly it goes like this:

92 - the original sear block safety heel mag release

92s - safety changed to hammer drop on slide

92sb - magazine release relocated to trigger guard

92sbf - firing pin safety added (?)

92f - frame contour changed at the front of the mag well (?)

92fs - modification to keep the slide out of your grill

m9 - military designation for 92fs

m9a1 - rail on dust cover re-contoured frame

inox - italian for stainless

the italian berettas have a slightly smoother action than the american ones

Are the Brigadier (beefier slide?) and Vertec (different grip frame?) models in addition to the ones above or are they merely different themes of the major mods listed above?

the Brig added the beefed up slide and dovetailed sights to the 92FS

the Vertec has the frame modified to the straight backstrap

the "D" models have a DAO trigger

the "G"" models replace the slide mounted safety with a de-cocker

the Elite is a competition version of the 92 and 96

differences

The Vertec also has thinner grips and an integrated light rail on the frame.
