One of my 1050's has gone to the dark side. It has quit picking up a primer from the tube. I am using CCI SPP and have never had an issue with these primers. SO far I have cleaned the primer tube(yes there was a small amount of crud inside) replaced the plastic tip, watched the Dillon videos, substituted another primer feed tube with new tip, cleaned and adjusted the primer feed slide and arm that goes into the primer slide and replaced the little rubber thing on the primer slide.

Even tried a primer tube with a brass tip so i dont believe its a broken plastic tip causing the problem.

I can see where the primer rod is not moving down each time to drop the next primer.

I know its something simple I just cant seem to figure it out.

Prayers and suggestions welcome. Going to take a break and see how it looks in the morning.

Is the primer slide against the “D” shaped primer stop B when ram/handle up and stop is not loose?

If not, it is not going far enough back to pick a primer up.

It seems to me that the primer arm assembly’s are fairly particular as to the location they are happy with, I wind up putting target pasters on the blast shield so I can line them up at the spot quickly both elevation and rotation. They are square so the edge is where the split is (in the clamp) and the top goes against the bottom edge of the clamp but don’t stick one there until everything is running perfect. 34D1C867-DCD3-4D5B-9727-CB8E4CC4C217.jpeg DB0179A5-8F3A-4C83-92B3-E63A184B6774.jpeg

I assume you are using the correct (large or small) Dillon tube.?

I agree with @jmorris. On my machine whenever I've had a problem similar to yours it has been due to poor positioning of the primer slide actuating lever.
This usually follows a complete teardown and reassembly of the top half of the machine; takes me longer to get the primer mechanism up and running again than I would like.

My experience as well, why I started putting the locating indicator (paster) on the tubes. Makes it quick and easy to put it back where it was.

Thank you Jmorris. Once again one of your ideas was a simple brilliant solution. The primer slide mechanism needed a small height adjustment to find the sweet spot.

cut a couple Avery labels to mark the edge for a visual reference.
