By accident last night, I learned a little trick on converting back and forth between calibers on my Dillon 550.
I was switching from 26 grains to 2.7 grains so I had to convert from the L powder bar to the S 2 piece powder bar. So I switched.
Well next caliber change was back to L powder bar and guess what- it was back dead on at 26.0 grains (same powder).
So there is an EASY BUTTON to change “go-to caliber loads” powder bar settings without having to repeatedly screw- adjust- weigh.
And WITHOUT the much added expense of having to buy a dedicated powder measure for each caliber or the Unitech micro adjuster I have on my first SD. Hey I’m frugal!
Doesn’t mean you don’t have to check because you’re supposed to do that always!
But it is much faster especially if you have to switch powder bars! And you’re going to have to dump powder anyway to switch powders.
With three Dillons I found I had extra brand new L powder bars on hand! But alas no XS, S, XL or mag. They don’t include those.
Just my feeble minded experience! Hope it helps other Dillon users.
