Dillon 600 swaging question.

I broke down and bought one of these, and have a setup question. The instructions basically say to "set a case on the locator rod". Then to "screw the locator rod in or out so that the case goes down without hitting the back-up plate." "Slowly push the handle down and move the case so that the tip of the swage rod enters the primer pocket." Now for the part that is confusing me:

"Leave the rod in the primer pocket and lock the set screw on the right side of the swager unit." "This locks the location of the flat block." "The flat block sets the alignment of the primer pocket with the swage rod." "Failure to do this will ruin your case and may damage the swager itself."

I have located the set screw and attempted to lock the location of the flat block, but it remains moveable on its springs, nothing "locks in place" as far as I can see. No mention is made of this by Dillon, other than the scant instructions I have quoted.

I watched a bunch of videos and none even mention this step. So, what say the Highroad guys using this device? (I have a bunch of .223/5.56 brass to do!

I think I figured it out. Taking it apart, I can see the threaded hole, and judging by the short length of the set screw, it just needed screwed in further. Getting a longer (for more leverage) allen wrench I was able to continue turning it further, and eventually it did lock the flat block. (with a lot of effort, I thought I had hit the end of the threads until I took it apart. ( It took a lot of effort to get the set screw to go in that far, the supplied allen wrench was not long enough to generate enough leverage)

The case block is soft steel and the set screw will make indentations in it. Once in a while you may need to remove the block and file off the burrs.
