OK, I have the RCBS Primer Pocket reamer and it works fine on 100 cases or so at a time. I've been contracted to process 10,000 pieces of military crimped brass. I assume at this point I have reached the NEED for a Dillon Super Swage 600. Does anyone have a general idea of how quickly 10,000 rounds can be run through it? Also, is this the point where you save up for the Dillon cutter that attaches to the sizing die? Please exclude the $300+ option that trim, and chamfer the case at the same time. Yes they would be nice but not in the budget for the near future. Thanks.

I've done 1000 308s at a sitting but they were sorted by manufacture ( this is important and if you have many types of headstamps there will be some extra time sorting brass and adjusting the settings) it took about 1 hour and 15 min. It took a while to set it up on the bench so that I could use the least amount of movement and work quickly, but once that was done things go fast, 15 per min. Be careful about getting in the liablity loop now that your a "contractor" processing brass and watch out for capal tunnel.

10,000?

Can you possibly be paid enough to make it worthwhile?

Seems to me the going price for brass with the crimp removed is no more than $10/1000 over brass with the crimp remaining.

That would seem to indicate that processing 10,000 cases is only worth $100.

Im not doing it to make money. I am actually doing this batch in exchange for the Dillon Swage. If there is more to do after that we will see what we decide on. I'm not really trying to make money doing it, just helping a guy out.

USSR,
I found that the trick is to set the tool so that it hangs off the bench on an angel with the handle free and clear. Clear a large enough area so the finished brass just gets tossed over the side of the bench into a large laundry basket useing the no look method, just pay attention to indexing the next piece of brass on to the tool.

layusn1,
That's a lot of work for a $90.00 tool, minimum of 12.5 hours longer if you haven't used it before. I hope that there are some other fringe benefits in the works for you.

Nope, thats the deal right now. If he likes my work there should be more in the future though.
