So I recently purchased the Primary Arms SLX 1x Microprism and the SLX 3x Micro Magnifier. I'm quite happy with them but I ran into an issue or rather something that I don't quite understand.
On the 1x Prism I turned the diopter all the way to the right and then back left to get the best picture.
On the 3x Magnifier I turned the diopter all the way to the left and then back right to get the best picture.
Shouldn't I turn the diopter(s) the same way to adjust for my eye sight?
I'm making two assumptions:
that both have a similar diopter range (-3 to +3 or whatever it may be)
the diopters controls are set up in the same manner (left is - and right is +)
If these were from two different companies I would just assume that company A set up their diopter one way and company B set it up another way, but these items are from the same company and are advertised as a working pair so I assume(d) that they have roughly the same range and the controls are set up in the same way.
Is difference in diopter settings due to the optics working in tandem thus the diopter for the magnifier needs less correction then the prism diopter because the prism diopter has already corrected for my eye sight and the magnifier is piggybacking off the prism?
My fiancee thinks I'm being a dumb dumb . . . she might be right . . . but she also agreed to marry me so who's the real dumb dumb?
