Well last year when Ruger release their LCP I was thinking that maybe next would be a 9mm around the size of a kel tec pf9 as I've been wanting to replace my s&w 642 with a small 9mm that would be better then the pf9 but not cost as much as a kahr but they came out with a new snub nose instead it seems. Guess I need to just start looking hard at the cw9 what does any cw9 owners think of this weapon? thank you

be safe

Johnny......

I owned a CW9 for several months and loved it....very concealable and an accurate little gun. However I kept on reading in various threads how a 9mm would only make a fat lady mad if you shot her with it and became thoroughly convinced that if I continued to carry a nine, I'd need two baseball bats and a long sword to win the fight ....therefore I ran down and traded for the CW45. Marginally larger gun (overall size) but just as concealable. In fact I modified my Mitch Rosen CW9 holster to fit the .45. My opinion 6 months later??? The CW9 is all the gun you need and is a very dependable weapon with one exception. If you get into a gunfight with a Kahr Basher or a 9mm Basher, you won't have a chance. He'll out draw you, drill three holes in you before you can bat an eye (in fact, at least one of the rounds will hit you in your dominant eye) and leave you in the prone position waiting for the buzzards to move in............Just my humble opinion!!!!!

I love those threads... funny how their hungry egos can dilute their sensibility so drastically.

Anyway, I am considering a CW9 as well. I've been using a Glock 26 for a while now and its great, but a single stack would carry better.

I know, cost is always an issue for everybody, but whenever I've spent the "big bucks" on something really nice, the pain of the price goes away rapidly while the quality of the item stays forever.

Consider the hellaciously expensive (and worth it) Rohrbaugh R9s Stealth. I've had mine only a couple months, but long enough to know that I wouldn't trade it for five PF9's.
It's smaller than the 642 being the same size as the LCP (which I also have), so it conceals as well as any and still packs a 9mm punch.

CDH.......

Does the Stealth have a sweet recoil or does it kick like a young mule at a donkey kicking contest?? I have the LCP and sure wish it was a nine, although it's recoil stirs up my rhumatism and lumbago in my ole hands. All these threads have me convinced that I'd be better off using the LCP .380 as brass knucks instead of pulling the trigger. If it penetrates half as much as the sound indicates, it'd knock a twelve inch hole in the side of a rhino.

I have a pf9 and a cw9. The difference between the two is drastic. The Pf9 is a good bit shorter in the grip and that seems to make the biggest difference in printing between the two. The Kahr is a much higher quality and the fit/finish is much better than the pf9. That being said. They both work great and shoot well. The pf9 has loosened up a good bit since I bought it. I notice that the slide has more play in it but it shoots a great group. The Kahr's steel rails run the entire length of the frame just under the barrel and really help to keep the gun tight and wobble free.

Lately I have been taking turns wearing them and like the feel of the pf9 better but if I ever needed to use it in a defensive situation, I'd want the Kahr hands down. I am more accurate with it and it has much less recoil/muzzle flip.

That's one of the funniest posts I've read on here in long time. Thanks for the belly laugh OleCodger.

My POS kahr PM9 has 18,350 rounds through it and not one issue. Damn thing just goes bang every time. MY K9 has 4000+ and works just as BAD as my PM9 does. can't figure out why anyone would want a gun that goes bang all time.!!!!

Best damn defense guns I ever had, the CW series is the steal of the gun industry IMO.

PF9=Barf!

Jocko......

You're just like the Internal Revenue Service.......I see you all over the place! :D If you ever need a backup, let me know. I have a J C Higgins .22 single shot rifle that I'll bring and together, we'll beat them to death!!

Ijnowell......

It's an "inside joke".........hint......BASH, BASH, BASH, BASH, BASH, BASH, no matter what the subject. All negative, very little positive irregardles of the subject.......BASH, BASH, BASH......

Our belief is that "Today is an absolutely great day, Tomorrow will be even Better" even if it does take Ruger or whom ever a month to perform a mod on a gun!!!!!!!!!!

Now, aren't you sorry that you asked??!!! Well, I need to correct that statement before "The League of Perfect Bashing Organization" jumps and does it for me......You didn't ask did you, I just took the liberty to respond to your statement!!! Hope you have a good day all your shots are in the "X" ring or at least a ten!!!!!

Hey Jocko, if I put words in your month, I apologize.... I took some "poetic license"!! Feel free to edit as you see fit!!!!!

I realize all guns can give issues, if your displease with yours what ever it is PEDDLE THE SUCKER and move on. Not a big deal.

oh well this horse has been beat to death so many times...

I love my CW9. Close to 900 rounds through without a single issue. Not a pocket gun but it conceals very nicely IWB.

I must say, sir, that I applaud your train of thought and course of action regarding your word choice in posting. I will keep this in mind when reading and commenting. In fact its something to think about, perhaps even affect my own posting style.

Tnx LJNOWELL.........and if I get "a little" wordy, I apologize. But after awhile, enough is enough. Didn't mean to preach a relentless sermon.....I get carried away sometimes,........of course Jocko keeps agging me on!!!!!

Happy Shootin'

Nonsense, I enjoy a wordy post, it gives me something to do while its too cold to shoot. I mean, this global warming is getting so bad that its damn near getting over zero at night here in central IL. I amy have to go out and let my diesel tractor idle for a while and see if I can open up the ozone enough to thaw out my bones.

Sorta back OT. I too wish Ruger had brought out a PF9 equivalent. But, they didn't. NBD. I have a PF9 and it is a good gun. It makes loud noises EVERY time I squeeze the trigger, it will, even with the CAT laser, fit in a pocket, and, somehow, despite the "terrible lack of QC of Kel-Tec", holes seem to appear in my targets very close to where I want them to.

And the price was right. And, maybe, a 9mm will make the "fat lady" mad. But if she's that fat, I can probably outrun her anyway.

JMNSHO &, of course, YMMV

JohnnyLaw53.....

In reading back over your thread, I'm afraid that I totally derailed your original question and for that I apologize, that wasn't my intent, believe me. I, in no way, meant to take over but it appears that is what I did....sorry about that. You may even want to repost and I promise I won't do it again!!!!!!!! I guess that it took Glasstream's response to awaken me!!!

I always try to remember that what ever I purchase, if it doesn't work out, it isn't Armageddon (sp?). I do the way I always do when I make other mistakes.......Back up and start all over again!!!

Best of luck in your search......

No problem olecoder, sometimes the free exchange of ideal do more then just staying with the original question. One reason I reallly enjoy THR is there are so many people that have a wealth of knowledge here I kinda hard sometime to stick to the thread.

be safe
