We have coyotes in abundance around here, as well as foxes, 'coons, bobcats, opossum, and groundhogs.

I had coyotes in my old neighborhood, but not here. Here I once encountered an opossum in my garage (!), which I'm happy to say left without further incident. The next-door neighbors told me a couple days ago that we now have raccoons and that they like hanging out in my giant ash tree, so far I haven't seen any myself.

We're currently being pestered by a rather large raccoon. They love cat food. They can also be quite vicious when cornered, so be careful around them.

We live 100 feet off the road in a suburban area. We have a nature preserve across the road and wooded land behind us. I put my CC on with my pants and keep it on me until the pants come off, then it goes bedside. I work 3 days a week and can't carry at work. I'm not comfortable without it going into the store at 5:30 am but am OK with it around 11 am when I go home and get it. I'm not worried about 4 legged critters. We have deer on our property so I expect predators may be around but haven't seen any yet. I split oak this afternoon and it was helping OWB instead of the normal IWB.

If you want to trap them as in trap and release, they can't resist the vanilla cookies with the white icing inside. We moved a large family out of our neighborhood when we moved in here 30 years ago.

Because I pocket carry I'm always armed.
