I have an old Savage/Springfield Model 120 (.22 short/long/LR single shot bolt action) that is in rough condition but has sentimental value. It shoots OK but the bolt kind of sticks (probably from wear).

In any event, I can't figure out how to remove the bolt or do any other disassembly to try and fix the thing up. Can anyone point me to diagrams or disassembly instructions? Thanks in advance!

I'm just taking a guess here, from other bolt rifles I've known in the past. Try holding the trigger down while pulling the bolt back. (Safety off, make sure its unloaded and chamber is clear, point it in a safe direction, etc.)

If that doesn't do it, there's got to be some lever or other doohickey to press to release the bolt.
