I picked up an old JC Higgins Model 28 today for $20 (estate sale)! It's in fairly rough condition, but all the internal parts look good and it still shoots nicely. I'm working on disassembling it so I can clean it up and refinish it, but I can't seem to figure out how to get the feed tube and barrel off of the reciever (which seems to be made of aluminum or some other non-ferrous metal).
I've managed to download a manual for it, and from the parts diagram it appears that the barrel simply unscrews and I'm assuming the feed tube does as well, but I haven't had any luck getting it out. It may just be stuck, but I figured I'd see if anyone here knew something I didn't.
