recently i asked my local gunshop for a price on the p220 stainless, and they told me a price, but that is not the object of this post. the owner gave me some news about the upcoming availability of the p220st, and basically he told me that it would not be imported into CA starting 2004, it would not be on the doj approved list. sig was tired of paying the liscensing fees for a gun that was not selling well. can anyone attest to the accuracy of this bit of news?

i just ask

because i already have two, and want to get more, but don't know if i will have to move out of state to get one.

by the way a dual rig setup for dual p220st's (ala face/off) is not very practical. i call it the "piggyback" rig, because it feels like you are giving someone a piggyback ride when you strap it on.

The P220 ST is currently approved through 10/16/2004. Since it costs Sig nothing to continue to sell guns through that period in a state that accounts for 15 - 20% of handgun sales in the US, why would they stop in January?

Sounds like your local gunshop didn't have any in stock and were trying to sell you something else. You may need a new place to shop. :)

darn it...

i trusted them. maybe they were misinformed. they have always been honest with me. $420 out the door for a gp100. pretty good for southern CA.

Thanks to the outgoing Governor Davis, about the only pistols we can have in a while will be the Browning Hi-Power (with extended extractor serving as a loaded chamber indicator) and the S&W series of pistols (also with extended extractor). Thanks CA for nothing. :(

CA is one of the most disgusting states there is. Was speaking to a mounted officer the other day and he told me he's pulling the pin & going to Montana. Tired of the taxes and laws & politics of this once golden state. Can't say I blame him. I want out to.
