Actually, I do throw it out in the vegetable garden, where it gets tilled in. I always just figured it was dried, ground up corn cobs anyway, so what could it hurt?
But now I'm going to start worrying, darn it! I gave up snuff in 2001, my pipe in 2005, I don't eat as much as I'd like to anymore, I have to watch my cholesterol, I can't even have a small glass of scotch every evening without feeling guilty, and now I have to worry about eating the tomatoes out of my garden because they might be contaminated by lead dust in the ground? Life gets more unfair the older I get!
