Ordered an IWB and mag pouch for a 5" 1911 from Rafter S 4 weeks ago, on May 1. I was told 2 weeks for delivery, which is one of the reasons I chose them. 2 weeks went by, no holster arrived. After 3 weeks, I called to inquire about the holster's status. I was informed that it was completed except for the finishing details, and would be shipped out priority mail on Friday the 23rd. Well, if it had been, it would've been here by now, so I called again today - and was told it shipped yesterday, the 28th. So, I was lied to twice. I don't mind waiting, if I'm told up front what the wait will be. One delay, while annoying, is understandable and forgiveable. Being lied to twice is not. I don't care how nice the holster is, Rafter S will never see another dime of mine - poor customer service is unforgiveable.

I'm sorry that you had a bad experience with them. I've generally had very good dealings with Steve and Della (and Shannon). I, too, hate being lied to. It's unlike them to actually intentionally lie to anyone, though. I find it more likely that you were forgotten in the rush of day-to-day business or that something got miscommunicated. Still, it sucks to be told one thing and then another happens.

My last dealing with Rafter S was not the best in the world but I will continue to do business with them unless and until it becomes habitual rather than isolated incidents.

They have some of the best leather going.

Well, it arrived...here are my impressions after the first day of all-day wear.

The holster construction is quite good. All stitching is well and neatly done, double-stitched at the stress points. The leather is of good quality, and the mouth is nicely reinforced, allowing for easy one-handed reholstering. The sewn-in sight channel is well executed. Tension on the gun is looser than many new holsters I've felt, but adequate for weapon retension. I'd want it a bit tighter if it were OWB, but it's fine for an IWB.

The holster is comfortable to wear, and conceals my SW1911 with 8 round mag as well as my Sidearmor conceals my Glock 19, which is very well indeed. I wear either at about 2:30, as any further back and my love handles (yes, I'm circumferentially challenged ;) ) push any gun but quite far from my body. My only slight issue was with the belt loops - they seem large enough to accomodate a huge belt. This could be my fault - I assumed they'd use 1.5 inch belt loops by default, as that seems to be the defacto standard for most makers, and I didn't ask. However, the holster remained stable and in place all day, and was quite easy to draw and reholster.

The clip-on mag pouch doesn't work on my body at all. Sticks almost straight out from my side. Probably due to my body type....

All in all, I'm happy with the holster.
