District Attorney on New York's Long Island bans prosecutors from owning guns

Interesting. Other DAs in other NYS counties said they not only would not interfere with ADAs who chose to go legally armed at work, but would help those who chose to do so get training.

The way the Nassau County application read, if you were an ADA you could not only not carry on the job, but ADAs could not even own a handgun for non-defensive, recreational use.
 
it was put into effect by Kathleen Rice who was the previous District Attorney. She is rabidly anti gun. She ordered several raids on gun stores in which store owners and employees were arrested. in both the series of raids all charges were eventually either dropped or prosecuted unsuccessfully. This lead to large lawsuits against nassau county by the gun store owners, which were successful. She is now in the House of Representatives and has very large ambitions.
