I would like to know how our racial demographic plays out on THR. Are you a minority in the traditional sense? Let's here it. I am just curious. This came up from a conversation about president elect Barack Obama. Please don't turn this into an I hate Obama thread. I just would like a show of hands.

I'm White, with a mix of things including: German, English, and Navajo Indian.

I favor the German/English side more, even though my grandmother is 1/2 Native American. Blonde hair and blue eyes...

White Honkey Cracker here-- allegedly a wee bit Native American but alas no card.

I'm American-specifically, United States of America. Born of Americans living in northern Ohio/southern Michigan. Married to a 'native' New Mexican, whose parents came from Colorado and Missouri.

My father was Italian, born of immigrants, decorated military Colonel.

My mother is Heinz 57 American, typical American housewife of the times.

The modern Liberal seems confused about "Diversity". We have had it all along.

I am a minority that they do not care about in the least. I am white to them, nothing else.

And how this is gun related ?
Yep, won't last long. ;)

What's a minority in the "traditional" sense??? Hell, we're all minorities, if that makes sense? Who cares anyway.
A better question might be who is in the majority here?

No idea. How would I know who my great-grandmother was sleeping with?

If you go back far enough, all Americans are African-Americans. BFD.

I'm only a minority in the sense that I am of Jewish ancestry but you probably wouldn't know it unless I told you, and it does not play a large role in my life or my identity. But it has taught me some important historical lessons about the need to be armed.

Original intent was to discuss lots of racial issues. I am scared to even begin. Given our newly elected anti-gun officials, I was considering the possibility that we may have some viewers/members of African/American descent. They may or may not be leading our march. It does not appear that is the case, as I have'nt ever met a gun guy/girl who was anything other than the basic answers above. If this 2nd Amendment thing is going to last I believe we (Gun Lovers) need to OUTREACH to any person who is non-gun/anti-gun. This is not to say there is not already some similar movement, I just have not seen nor heard of it. Maybe this is a dumb thread? I dunno. I sure would like to talk to any gun owners with feelings like mine who happen to be black.

Probably most people here are whiteys.

I'm Korean (and I own a Glock, oh noes! Wouldn't touch a pot metal .22 with a stick, though).

I saw a couple Black dudes in the gun store about a week before the election, both buying handguns. Don't know what kind, but they were filling out the state registration crap. Obviously first-timers, they were being walked through the forms and stuff, and looked a little intimidated. I kinda wonder who they voted for.

I assume pretty much everyone on here is white.
I was just browsing the THR member picture thread.
Most of the people on there were white males, but there were a few non whites... and a few non males.
I, myself, am a white guy... good old Georgia Boy.
Of welsh and native american decent... with a few other handfuls thrown in.

I believe diversity is an old old wooden ship.......:D
I hope someone gets this

I am 1 1/6 Blackfeet So i have been told the rest is a mix

I think all of us are mixed breeds and diversity really has no bearing here or there.
