Happily married now, so the problem only crops up these days for to get better female representation on project teams and to qualify for co-ed softball/broomball/volleyball teams.

Straight .. WELL over 30! .... non religious ''Humanist'' ...... married second time around and very blessed. Geriatric dog, mental cat .... two teen step kids and two of my own ... married and settled.

If I hadn't liquidated some assets from my earlier years and ''converted them'' ... I wouldn't have all these damn guns to feed and clothe!

I haven't had time to read other replies so I hope I'm not repeating.

First, looks like bad math in poll. Should get 100 for each catagory.

I had thought about asking ethnicity. Shooting is usually considered a white redneck activity, but one quick look at our local matches says pan Asians are a huge percentage of the participants. I am curious about participation by other ethnic groups and what either restricts participation or encourages participation.

Latinos are poorly represented. I grew up in/around a Mexican-American barrio and am often perceived as being Latino, sometimes in a positive manner and sometimes not. But now I am too long out of the barrio to understand why legal residents don't show more interest. Maybe there are not enough legal residents in the SF Bay area to support participation. Dunno.

I see few if any African-Americans in IPSC, but the percentage goes up in PPC. Still too low, though, particularly in the Oakland area. This is very bothersome to me. One possible reason for the low participation and the reason it is a bother to me is that even among the well educated Blacks who make up a good percentage of my coworkers there seems to be a strong Liberal bent that supports a bigotry internal to the Black community that African-Americans are not to be trusted with guns.
