Divine intervention in Sin City: New S&W .44mag

Pat, I didn't realize this was a Heritage unit myself, thought the grips didn't look vintage. I have a 25-15, which has 4 screws, and a lock, fer Pete's sake.
It looks like they really went whole hog on this one.

I have a 25-15 as well. It’s going to the range tomorrow along with my Henry X model for a bit of fun.

Oh my gosh! I just went on Gun Broker and used the search words “Smith & Wesson Heritage Series”.
Some of their new lever guns popped up but also a Model 24 with a starting bid of $1750 and a Model 29 -9 with a price of $2295. 🙀

Pat, I replaced the OEM Altamonts (what is their issue, up by the hump?) with Eagles, much more like the old cokes.
I need to shoot mine more; put on a fiber optic front sight.

Hmmm…I have no issues with my grip. What was wrong with yours? I seem to recall you mentioning it in another thread.

The one my buddy snagged for $800.

I could have gotten it but passed mostly because I had no fun money. That and I already had a 29-2 8 3/8".
Is that a commemorative for the movies “Hostiles”, the Western? It would seem kind of odd as there weren’t many S&W model 29s floating around in the late 1800’s. 😆

S&W did a 12-gun series on a subscription based plan back in 1990. The idea was that they'd make one gun a month and sell 'em via subscription. Well, the deal fell through and S&W just dumped all the guns on the market through Ellett Brother.

All the guns are numbered X of 500.

Wow! Thank you @Miami_JBT
I wasn’t aware of those guns. That’s two different special run revolvers I have learned about in two days.
Yesterday it was the Heritage series and today it’s these.
I have to say that I wouldn’t mind coming across that model 25 “The Horse Thief” for sale…at a reasonable price.
I also like the 629 “The Mountain Lion”.

Thanks again for taking the time. Those are all great looking revolvers.

If I could get the entire set fir a reasonable price, I would. The thing is, there's nothing special about 'em except the engraving. They're just run of the mill guns that were pulled from the assembly line.

The Heritage Series are Performance Center built pieces. Hence why I have the 29-9. It is a pencil barreled six inch 29 with a Patridge front sight and gold bead. The only thing close to that is the Mountain Gun.

Thanks. Run of the mill Smith & Wessons are fine with me. I like ‘em!

I wouldn’t look at a PC gun made today, but older ones? Heck yeah.
