One of the Dixie Twits was quoted as sayin, "Schrwazenegger shouldnt be governor, someone should be gov. should have a clue. I hope he doesnt win." Of course this was said while they were in Germany. Say what you want about Arnold but he has more of a clue than these dingbats. I for one am sick and tired of listening to celebs give their uneducated opinions about anything and everything unless its has to do with something in the entertainment business. Maybe Natalie Maines should run for gov. if she is so damn smart. My guess is she probably doesnt even vote. I for one vote with my pocketbook and not buy their albums or anything else that has to do with them. I have called my radio station and told them I dont want to hear the Twits and the reasons why. Too many people in this country are concerned about what celebs think and do. I for one say who cares. If Lee Marvin were alive today I wouldnt want to hear his opinion either even if I agreed with it.

Can people in Germany vote in the CA governor's election  :D

Actually, that wouldn't even surprise me if they could .... just get an drivers license by mail and then vote absentee

You know, maybe giving CA back to Mexico isn't such a bad idea ... :p

I won't even consider buying Dixie Chicks music because of their kooky politics. (They have a right to mouth off, but I have a right to NOT buy their stuff . . . and NOT listen to radio stations that play their music . . . and NOT patronize businesses that advertise on those stations.)

Of course, I never DID buy any of their stuff, anyway. My tastes run to something other than toe-tapping sing-along music for Country Barbie and her friends.

I don't care about the Dipsie Twips politics - they are welcome to their opinions.

It just bothers me that they mouth off about American politics in foreign countries. What is their point, if they want to convince someone of their stance, they need to do it here in the USA, or in CA specifically.

People like this have low self-esteem, and, not having the courage to espouse an opinion contrary to the environment they're in, they adopt their host's viewpoint to be more accepted.

This is the first thing I've heard them say that I actually agree with. He doesn't have a clue. Ahnuld needs to step aside and throw his weight behind McClintock. Like the man says, CA is in deep trouble, and there's no time for a learning curve.

HankB, I wouldn't go that far, there was a shooting fair advertised on our country station here in the LA Basin :D

We may not like what they say, but they sure have the right to say it.

High IQ's are not required to be a singer, actor or politician.

Like the staion dial on the radio or tv, don't like what you hear, turn it.

Unfortunatly the media seems to give the mental midgets plenty of time.

I don't think they're trying to convince anyone, it's just verbal masturbation that they think those people will respond positively too. It's an attempt to get a pop from the crowd.

Hey, hey, easy with the banjo remarks.

Natalie Maines is the singer, Emily Robison is the banjo picker. :scrutiny:

Does anyone LIKE their music?

It's the worst commercialized Nashville schlock.

There's a ton of REAL country out there that puts the DC's to shame.

Non-event by a passing phase in country music. I aleady threw their cd's out after smashing them. Now I ignore the "Chicks" altogether.

Sigh!

The Dixie Chicks, when they stick to music, are pure country sublime.

I don't give a snot about their politics. They can sure sing!

We may not like what they say, but they sure have the right to say it.

Their right to speak is guaranteed by the Constitution of this nation. Their right to shoot their faces off all over the world but not in this country is not guaranteed by anything. I am greatly displeased that their venue of choice is usually a stage in a foreign nation. If they have something to say about America, let them say it here.....................or just plain STF Up!

Now, this is a perfect example of the loss of critical thought in this country. (Not to pick on the particular commenter, several others above could have been just as good.)

I'd like someone to find me a quote by the Dixie Chicks saying anything about America. Hint: Criticizing two of the more air-headed politicians of this country is not the same as criticizing the country.

Ah yes, nothing like the non-courage of stupid "convictions" on display. I don't mind that they are busting Arnie's chops. But it's funny how they have to run about 5,000 miles before they feel comfortable doing it. No doubt we will hear more pseudo-retractions and flip-flops as they get closer to the Mason-Dixon line, just like with the last brouhaha over Bush. Totally gutless.
