DIY Low-Profile AR-15 gas block

I was fortunate in that the pins came out very easily for me. I don't have the hockey puck tool but I used a jig block I'd made up for other purposes and had no trouble.

I do have a 2"x72" belt grinder that I use for knife work that makes the cleaning up step a whole lot easier. I wouldn't want to do this with a Dremel tool.
 
Back in the day I cut mine down with a hack saw, filed the rough edges, sanded it a bit an rattle canned it flat back. Life was simpler back then.:D
 
It disappears pretty well under the rail on my semi-assembled rifle...

I hope so! I'm still waiting to finish it with the others in my little build party group. Soon...very soon.
