Do all new Sig P226R's have the obnoxious LCI?

I was at my LGS looking at P226's, and all of them had the new loaded chamber indicator in the slide, along with the lettering written on top.

Pic added for reference.

Is this the way all new P226's come now? I thought this was just a California Roster thing, but I am in a free state not anywhere near California.

For me it totally ruins the look of the classic Sig.

Ha! Someone from Ruger went to work for SIG.

Actually I miss not having a port like my M&Ps on my 220. Since I expect my Ruger SR45 to be ugly the LCI doesn't matter, but I sure don't want one on my SIG.

That was the only thing I really hated about my SR9.
Hate to see it spread to Sigs.

Have yet to come across one on a SIG. There's one on my Ruger SR9c but it doesn't really bother me all that much as I like everything else on the gun.

Has anyone bought a P226 or P229 recently without the LCI? The salesman at this shop said I would have to get the MK25 if I wanted one without it. He checked all of the back-up stock and they all had the LCI.

True or Bogus?

Does it have an arrow pointing to which end the bullet comes out of?

I bought the MK25 two years ago without that nasty looking billboard:banghead:

The California model has its own catalog number 226R-90XTM-BLKGRY-CA (and yes there is also an arrow in the direction of bullet travel, but its pointing at the LCI).

Regular 226s have different catalog numbers E26R-9-XTM-BLKGRY (9mm) E26R-40-XTM-BLKGRY (.40S&W) and no LCI.

As to what they may currently have in stock or what a distributor has in stock is anyone's guess.

The only models I've seen that on was the sp2022. I guess because i live in ohio I don't see many sigs with the lci. I don't like it at all. I've even thought about taking mine off my SR45

I have a freind with two newer 226's, and they don't have this feature. ( but they do have some very noticable play in the slide compared to the one I bought back in '86).

I just bought one here in Washington and it did not have the LCI. You're right, it does look like crap.

Wow. That looks awful. If you're buying a gun like that and can't manage to do a press check, you have no business buying that gun.

No LCI SIGs so far in Florida.

I have seen quite a few guns with this feature..I have a pt111 with this. Is this to make that gun California compliant and what exactly does Cal compliant mean?
