Do fiberoptic (no battery) 'bore light' refracters work?

its good for quick checks. but i wouldnt do any close examination with one

might as well pay alittle more and get the real thing. missing a hairline crack down the inner wall of your barrel wont make you feel very good about saving money

They work just great if you have a good light source shining in the end so you have some light to refract.

Outside in the sun they will dazzle you.
Not so much on a gunshow floor with dim light.

I have one laying on my workbench all the time & use it.
But I also have a 48" florescent shop light hanging right above the bench.

Since numrich is so good about still providing shipping codes on their phone message, I ordered both the little fiber optic guy, and a more traditional (if bulky) led flex lamp.

I do like that niteize product that would fit over my old reliable little Mag
