Do gangsters really use UZIs in real life?

Monkeyleg~ Who me!?!?!?!? Noooooo! But I do know people... I'm probably not your typical THRer though. :D

When I was in high school (20 years ago) I knew a guy who got shot with 4 rounds of 9mm through the door of the car he was sitting in by a coke dealer using a full auto something or other. Word was it was an uzi, but it could have been another FA 9mm I suppose. No one in the car was looking closely at it, they were mainly screaming and burning rubber I think.

What types of guns used it crimes has also, I am certain, shifted as well. For example, I don't think Lorcin and Jennings exist any more (or have since changed names) so I doubt they've been at the top of the list any time recently.

I agree that the info is a bit outdated, but it's the most recent I could find. And judging from what I've seen used in local crimes or seized incident to arrest ove rthe past, say, 3 years, it's still a very accurate portrayal of typical weaponry toted by street-level criminals.

The simple fact is that there are/were so many of these cheap pot-metal pieces of crap produced, that there is an abundant supply for criminals to buy or steal to obtain.

If you buy illegal drugs from somebody that smuggled them from another country what would make you think you can't buy illegal firearms? Of course full auto guns make it here from other countries but I would bet it is a very small number.

Probably so. After all, which is worth more by the pound (or kilo), cocaine or guns? There's only so much room on a small plane or boat.
