Do some Springfield XD pistols have thumb safeties?

I saw a photo of what looked like an XD with a thumb safety, but I am having a hard time finding anything about them on the Sprinfield Armory website. Does anyone know if some are made with thumb safeties?

How does the grip size of the XD45 compare with a Glock 21? The G21 grip is too fat for me.

The XD is thinner, but longer. The Glock 21SF is an option to consider.

The thumb safety models were brought about to compete for the US Army pistol trials.

The XDs all have very very very similar grip profiles, regardless of caliber (unlike Glocks, where the 10mm and .45 ACP models are quite obviously bigger guns). All XDs share the same slide dimensions (allowing for length variances in the different models).

I am also torn on getting a 4" or 5" model. I do not plan on carrying this gun, so concealment is not really a consideration. I am leaning towards the 5". Does anyone have opinions on this? Is the balance significantly different between the two lengths?

If anyone has photos of XD45's I would love to see them...
