Sure, the 1st Amendment would protect your publicly stated opinion that you don't agree with the law, however discussing how you break that law is something else and nobody wants to incriminate themselves, whether they actually do break the law or not.
The first Amendment (the free speech part) is mostly to protect public protests and publicly stated opinions. Saying you break the law is more of a statement.
