I have a pretty average build. 5' 10" and I carry a 9mm hi-power iwb regularly. A good belt and holster makes it possible. It's more like a commander sized 1911, but I bet a full size 1911 would be even easier to conceal with its thinner grip.

That said, I'd love to get my hands on a lightweight CCO.

ETA: in shorts and t-shirt weather I usually have a j-frame in a pocket holster.

I voted no because the M&P45c is considered a compact firearm. In reality it is about as big as the full size 9mm/40 M&P with perhaps a slightly shorter grip. While for me the grip is the hardest thing to conceal, in the essence of full disclosure I am 6'3" and about 185 lbs.

I voted no. I have carried a full size CZ 75 but I didn’t enjoy it. With the right clothes and rig it’s possible but I can’t be bothered. I don’t want to dress around the gun to the degree necessary for a full size and I just don’t want that much weight and bulk around all day.

I'm 5'10" 175, average build I guess. I carry a g19 and it isn't full sized. It isn't exactly compact, either. I wasn't sure which way to vote since I'm in limbo on this one!

I'm 5'11" and 230, I belt carry a kahr pm40 or a keltec pf9 most often....or a keltec p3at in the pocket.

I'm 5'10" and 175. I just recently started carrying a CZ SP01 Phantom in a OWB falco holster. It stays pretty invisivle under a long shirt, but if someone was looking it wouldn't be too hard to see.

I'm still debating on whether or not I want to ditch the long shirt and open carry it. Its so long I don't think an IWB holster would worth too well.

I used to carry a full sized 1911 most of the time but I typically down size to a subcompact or pocket pistol during the summer time.

Right now I'm splitting time between the 1911 and CZ Rami. The Rami is growing on me the more I carry it though.

I'm 6'0" and approx 200lbs. I recently started carrying a "Government" sized1911 as my EDC. I've actually found it surprisingly concealable in a good IWB holster (I use an MTAC Minotaur). I think this has a lot to do with the with of the pistol. I've successfully pulled it off with a white t-shirt (though not a tight t-shirt of course)...or at least no one commented or gave funny looks. The only thing I have to look out for is how I position the holster on my belt to cut down on possible printing from the grip. I used to carry an XD45 compact in an OWB pancake holster which worked pretty well but printed badly (it's a much wider gun than my 1911) though the grip was a lot shorter which helped. I'm planning to get a new kydex panel for the holster so I can swap between the two pistols easily. I suspect the XD will be far more concealable once worn IWB. That said, I haven't had a lot of trouble concealing my 1911...which frankly surprised me.

I carried a 1911 for a long time. IWB, it didn't matter much between a full size or a commander model for me. Honestly, either was easier to conceal than a glock 26. I switch to a 26 or a 19 only because I somehow became more confident with them. My 2 favorite pistols now are a good ol' Colt box-stock government or a glock 19. Both are the most natural feeling, pointing and shooting guns I've owned. Granted, I've yet to try CZ's or BHP's for more than 50 rounds at a time...so I may switch again one day! I'm open minded about firearms with no loyalty to brands or types...so I'll try anything and switch to it if I run it better. I consider myself a 1911 guy, but I carry a Glock 19 or a 26.

6'1" 290lbs Carry an LCP and a Smith M&P40c

If I was to carry a full size it would be a Government or Commander 1911 and on the revolver side of things it would be a 3" K frame

Government model 1911 in a Bianchi OWB holster on a nice stiff gunbelt under a jacket, flannel, whatever. The key is a good belt. With everything adjusted right, I really don't notice the weight of the gun much.

Of course, Mi is an open carry state so I'm not 100% concerned about perfect concealment either. If I really want to conceal, I have an IWB for the 1911, but mostly I have other guns with a shorter grip.

I carry a full-size 1911 year-round, including 100+ degree summers. I use a Galco Miami Classic and a Blackhawk Serpa when it's cold enough for a concealment garment, and a Crossbreed Supertuck and a fanny pack the rest of the time. (I find myself using the Supertuck more and more year round.) I'm 5'10", 180.

The only non-full size gun I have ever carried was a Para-Ordnance P-12. I have carried a S&W Sigma, a Beretta 92, a G-22, and a Sig P-226 concealed extensively besides a lot of 1911 models.

Around the house sure. If I lived somewhere besides Florida I could get away with it more but it just get so warm down here you have to dress lightly. On rainy days or in the winter I will carry my FNP9. I just picked up my new Kahr CW9 that takes slim to the next level. At under an 1" wide it just disappears under a well sized t-shirt.

I think what surprises me most is that 63% of people apparently carry full sized firearms.

I'm not yet CC'ing, so I'm curious...wouldn't a sportcoat be the answer to any concealability issues? You can wear it indoors or outdoors. If it's tweed or a non-glossy fabric, it could even be worn with blue jeans. I guess it wouldn't work on hot summer days here in the midwest. Or in Florida type climates, but that's what big loose Hawaiian shirts are for. My only problem with Hawaiian shirts is that they're seasonal and not always available. (Though there are always thrift shops - I'm not a fancy dresser.)

Maybe if you're a sport coat kind of guy.

And I doubt it's really 63%. The title of the thread caught the eyes of those of us who do. Those who don't think about it ignored or didn't notice it.

But yes, I spend a lot of time lecturing people who say; "You can't carry a full-size gun." Of course you can. It's a matter of putting your wardrobe and lifestyle around the gun, instead of the other way around.

I'm 5'8" and of medium build.

I carry my S&W M&P45 IWB whenever possible. I prefer not to compromise with small guns if I don't have to. Big guns aren't as comfortable, but they are comforting. I also like using my HD gun as my CC gun. I like doing a "one gun" thing.

Ruger SR9c compact 9mm. Not a pocket gun, but not really full sized. It can have
17+1 or 10+1 rounds in the mag.

6'2" 235lbs.

I'm 6' 6" and 270 pounds (trying to get that down closer to 250.) I've just started carrying occasionally. The biggest guns I've carried concealed are a CZ-82 and a 4" S&W Model 15 (OWB covered with a light jacket) Usually I carry a P3AT.

On any given day I carry one of my two Seecamps, Sig P238, S&W 442 or my Kahr P380. I learned a long time ago that a full sized pistol won't work for me for EDC.
