Do you have a problem when you get that third gun safe

I bought my first gun safe from Home Depot, nothing amazing, just three hundred pounds of metal you could easily move with a dolly(hand truck), then loaded it with about three hundred pounds of ammo and guns. Then my uncle gave me one of his old safes from when he closed down his jewelry store (got tired of the stress, and went into the wholesale and transportation end) and it's four hundred pounds I filled with my handguns, tools, usual personal stuff you don't want stolen. Then one I day I was looking around my walk-in closet (I rent the master bedroom at the house I stay at) and thought, "all these AK kits, CETME kits, flats, and reloading components aren't probably good to leave around." So I put a big shiny lock on the door, and got another gun safe.

So now I can barely walk into the closet but all my guns, ammo, and reloading components are locked away (I keep a shotgun and revolver handy). I figure one day when I get a house of my own, I may need a very large safe. Am I the only person who has had this experience.

Sorry, those sound more like footlockers, not safes....safes start at 700 pounds for a small one and go up to over 3200.....:D

seriously, if you can move it with a handtruck, bolt them down to the floor and into a corner so someone can't haul them off

That reminds me of the time I first received my C&R license. Being young and having some disposable income (not much, but more than enough to keep the lights on and my stomach full), I disposed of said income quite readily.

I suddenly went from 3 firearms in a $100 12-gun safe to almost two dozen firearms, obviously with no room in the safe (and therefore no humidity control). I immediately learned two lessons:
1. Don't buy firearms that you can't afford to store properly
2. If you can't learn to follow rule #1, give thanks for the magical corrosion-resistant storage properties of Cosmoline.

Until I bought a new safe I couldn't shoot any of the firearms that wouldn't fit into the old one, in fear of rusting out. I learned some good lessons, though. Good times!

The only real problem is if you already had enough stuff to fill it when you brought it home! Thats like too much fun....can't happen!
