Do you have to live in the USA to be an NRA member?

I don't know exactly where this question belongs, and I couldn't find an answer while searching (apparently a lot of threads mention the NRA, who knew?).

So I decided to ask the knowledgeable folks in General Gun Discussion;

Can a person living in a foreign country become a member of the NRA?

Thanks,
CR

Nope. I was a memeber for 15 years in Japan. You may have to pay a bit more to get the magazine mailed, I don't recall but I think so.

This month's issue has Kalasnikov hawking his Vodka in an ad while boasting about his NRA life membership. I don't think 'ol Mikhail is from around here. Joe

I visited a gun range in Ponce, Puerto Rico, had a large NRA sign proudly displayed....

The NRA would provide a membership to an alien (legal/illegal/extra-terrestrial/inter-dimmensional extra-terrestrial, etc.) provided dues were paid in U.S. funds. I wish they would (free and gratis) provide JFK with the first after-life membership just to chap his brother Teddy's arse.

As I recall from when I read the bylaws years ago, non - US citizens are welcomed to join the NRA. IIRC, there were extra rules that made it easier to toss out a non citizen for conduct unbecoming an American, and if I'm not mistaken, some restrictions on foreign contributions to the NRA-ILA, which is the political action wing.
