Been a member for many years and looked at this in amazement. This used to be an interesting and knowledge based forum, Over the past couple years many of the postings have gotten to the point of being silly.
Its up to the poster whether he names guns but there are more reasonable and better subjects to discuss.. Just my view but I would prefer questions/comments on real issues. Gun problems, how to fix, comments on model X, best caliber for .... .Oh so many subjects we could discuss!
Sorry but thats the way I feel.. No offence meant.

All mine were named by the manufacturer.

I've been reading this forum since 2007 (and joined much later) and have to disagree with your assertion. There were a lot of silly or chest-thumping discussions back then as well....though as with today, less of them compared to other, similar forums. As with "what caliber for a bear I'll likely never see" or the equally venerable "9mm vs 45" threads, if you don't like the topic, just ease on by!

I think most can agree that we lost a considerable amount of knowledge with the passing of member rcmodel. That guy was a treasure trove of information and I thoroughly enjoyed his posts.

Back to the thread - naming inanimate objects gets a little too close to worshiping idolatry or anthropomorphism for my taste, but if it suits you, get on with your bad self!

Can’t say I have named my guns but I have said a few names under my breath when I’m feeling pumped on how well my gun is performing. Like oh heck yeah sally. Does that count?

I've got a Chevy Trailblazer that's almost old enough to vote and a Ruger Super Blackhawk that share a name - The Beater.
I have a few other possessions that I call various names, none of which I will repeat here,,, ,

No, the factory did that when they made them and I just refer to them that way.

When 1911tuner quit frequenting the forum my online time down substantially, when we lost rcmodel it went down even more.
I’m on the forum probably less than half as much as before.

Those were 2 great men in the firearms community, and unfortunately they leave big shoes no one will likely fill anytime soon.

I still love this forum, and their are still some greats people on here, but I must admit I visit less and its more casual that in times past.

I'm, that would be a little weirdoish IMHO. Wish the OP had started a poll on this.
