Do You See Yourself With More Than a Dozen Guns?

I don't think I have ever lived in a house with less than a dozen guns. Nor would I want to.
When I was just out of high school, I owned over 20 different .22s. I have something like 10 AR15s alone. I have a couple dozen guns that don't fit in my safe.

There have been very few years of my adult life that I haven't bought more than a dozen guns a year.

Yes,

I have 22 right now (not a .22, but twenty-two individual guns).

I average roughly one a month since I started buying. So....supposing I live until 80. (80-21)*12+22=730 guns. The more the merrier!

:what: , I think my girlfriend would kill me if I came home with a new gun each month, not that I could afford it anyway. I do plan on having as many as I can get my hands on though, so I definitely see myself having over a dozen guns.

Hmmmmm....

Rifles: 4
Shotguns: 2
Pistols: 4

Got another .22 rifle and a hunting rifle coming soon (i Hope) then I'll be holding steady for a while at 12. So yeh, 12 in enuf for me(for now).

and my list of 17 didn't include wheel guns (I want at least a 357 snubby and a 44mag cannon), shotguns, or .22s (I mentioned the lack of .22s in the original post).

so actually, right now I can conceive of myself having two dozen guns, and that's not counting duplicates of anything.

and that's just right now, when I only own two and can't possibly afford another. just wait till I get a steady income stream going on ...

At one time, not long ago, I had 3 shotguns-5 rifles-10 pistols . I decided to downsize . between giving some to my kids( who sold most of those) and selling some at gun shoes, I now only have 6 pistols- 1 rifle- 2 shotguns . I am in the process of trying to fight off the urge to buy-buy-buy

I'm almost at a dozen!

I think I will be pretty much done buying and gathering at around 2 dozen, then the space, ammo, and lack of hands will really get to me. But of course, when I first started buying, I thought I would be happy with less than 10.

This from a person with 200 DVD's and counting... I gather therefore I am...

I need one more 10/22, and then I'm gonna be hunting for some cheap 50 round mags (I know, there ain't no such thing, but hey, I may get lucky...). Then it's time to make the mounts and cams for the 4-rifle 200 round hand-cranked fungun...

I can't remember the last time I had a dozen guns. :scrutiny:

I'm at about three dozen now... :D

...and there's plenty more on my want list!

1. AR15 20" with 3-9x scope
2. AR15 16" with red dot
3. another AR15 16" with red dot
4. Benelli 12ga
5. Beretta 92G
6. another beretta
7. P7M8

??? what else do I really need?

Mr. Skunk,

You blew it, bud! You may overload the server on this thread. You could have kept it much much shorter by asking, "do you see yourself with LESS than a dozen weapons. Then only those 3 or 4 people could have responded. But noooooooo. Now all of us have to say, "Yes, I have less than a dozen dozen...":D

I passed a dozen long ago. None are "super-dooper-special'...but I like most of them. Most have come to me as gifts or payment...( not bad...will work for guns)... There are only a few I'd be willing to part with. :D
Mark.

In the past I have but my goal lately is fewer but better guns. The guns around here have to earn their keep and there must be a reason to keep them.

Currently the total is 6 shotguns, 2 rifles and 4 handguns. That's two shotguns and two handguns more than I actually need and eventually they and others will hit the market with an intent to upgrade. After years of owning and trading I've come to appreciate higher quality guns and am more discriminating in my tastes. Owning 50 medium quality guns doesn't do as much for me as owning half a dozen of the very best I can afford.

Somebody tell me how I thin down to a dozen.

Sentimental guns (can't get rid of)

Great Granddads DOuble barrel Belgium 12 ga.
Granddads Win pump .410
Granddads Belgium Browning Humpback
Other Grandads Remington SPortsman 48
Other Granddads Citoti
Other Granddads Model 99 .300 Savage

Dads Win 94 30-30
Dads High Standard 9 shot .22 revo
Dads Savage .22 pump.
Uncles Marlin .22 Lever
Ruger SIngle Six .22/22wmr (first gun I purchased myself)
Browning Citori 20ga (1st SHotgun I bought myself)
Win 94 .45Colt (first lever gun I bought myself)
Ruger .243 (First Bolt gun I bought myself)
(2) Para P14.45 Limited (2nd 1911/SA I bought myself, traded the first. sniff.) (Second one was to cheap to pass up, plus you have to have a backup for your primary)

Other Guns:

Ar 15 (Evil Tactical Rifle)
Kimber 84M .22-250 (Long Range Varmint gun)
Savage .223 (Medium Range Varmint gun)
Kimber 84m .308 (Mountain hunting rifle)
Savage 110 .300 Winmag (Big Honking Brass thrower)
Remington Sendero .270 (White tail/MuleDeer Killer)
Ruger 10/22 (Rabbit/Armadillo gun)
American Arms Gentry SXS 12ga (gotta have a double)
Remington 870 (Home defense weapon)
NEF 45-70 (Dedicated truck gun)
Marlin Cowboy 45-70 (just cause)
Pedersoli Sharps replica .45-70 (Saw Quigley, didn't ya?)
Marlin .17v (common you gotta have a .17 Hornady)
Kimber Ultra Carry CDP (CCW)
Colt Gov't .380 (Deep CCW)
Springfield Champion (can't have too many 1911's, didn't have a commander sized gun anyway)
Ruger Stainless Mark II (needed a .22 auto loader)
(2) Uberti SAA Colt Clones (gotta play cowboy sometimes)
Uberti Outlaw .45Colt (coolest 6 gun I ever saw)

Now I see no redundancy in here anywhere. Just how am I supposed to thin this down to 12? On the contrary; I see several holes that need plugging.
