I really like my Frankford wet tumbler. I'm using the stainless steel pins they supply with the unit. I've done well over 10 thousands cases in this tumbler with zero issues, till today. I inspect each case after tuumbling and drying. I came across this one. No idea how this happens, but three of the SS pins managed to become jammed in the flash hole of the case. It took a punch to drive them back out of the case.

The pins that come with the Frankford Arsenal tumbler are a slightly smaller diameter. I ordered the larger size pins offered by most independent pin manufacturers and just use the Frankford Arsenal pins to replace the small number of pins that end up being lost thru use.

You will likely do another 10,000 or more before that or something like it happens again. You know, like the perfect storm or 100 year flood. Three pins managed to hit just the right way at just the right time and there we have it.

Stuck pins happen, I have been lucky with mine but I figured they changed the media size prior to my purchase since it has never happened to me.

3 pins jammed in the flash hole is rare I would think, as most pics and threads I have seen have had one or two.

I wouldn't worry about it until it happens often. Replace it when you lose more of them or it becomes a common issue.

I get that about every 3-4 loads. Pins that come with the tumbler are .041, they make .047 and .062 pins that won't jam in the primer holes. Also saw some SS chips in a post on Cast boolits for about 3 bucks a lb. They seem to work as good as the pins for a lot less green.
Cheapest price on the larger pins was at www.bullseyereloading.com.
