Does a laser make LCP less pocketable ?

Since I am likely to carry LCP more often than G26, and it doesn't have the Glock's excellent sights, I am seriously considering getting a laser.

However, my #1 absolutely top reason to go with LCP was maximum carryability. I wanted the smallest gun that could go with me anywhere and stay in my pocket (in a holster, of course) that I wouldn't have to dress around, or be constantly conscious of. So, does the laser make it any less pocketable / harder to pull out of pocket holster ?

I would find it hard to imagine that the laser (in this case when I mention a a laser i am referring to the crimson trace laser.) would make the pistol harder to put in your pocket. As most holsters (For holster's I am referring to pocket holsters) I have looked up tend to follow a square shape that or have extra material that goes out far enough to be about in line with the grip. Some examples here form midway. "https://www.midwayusa.com/s?targetL...omertypeid:1,p_gungroupid:1-6-480-157-11-HA0)"
Also here is a link to CT website for the LCP laser, and it too has some links to some holsters: "https://www.crimsontrace.com/01-2250"

In conclusion, most holster hostlers for this pistol share the same overall shape regardless if they are meant to accommodate a laser or not, thusly i don't see it begging too much harder, or harder at all, to pocket the LCP w/ laser compared to an LCP w/o a laser.

I put a Crimson Trace laser on a Keltec .380 and found the trigger pull was so long and hard that the "dot" was normally a streak, plus, in broad daylight I couldn't see it at all. All that narrowed the reasoning to a sliver for carry as there is good likelyhood I'd need it during the noonday sun, and the dot dancing around like it did actually destroyed my confidence in a hit.

Painting the sights was a good answer though, I did that and sold the laser. If I have to hit a target 20 feet away I figure I'll know then that I picked the wrong carry gun. :(

Good news and bad news. First the good news:

no, I have lasers on some of my small pistols and it does not hinder their pocketability. I don't have an LCP but I would still say that this would be the case.

Now the bad news.

I have lasers on well over 2 dozen of my pistols (what can I say, I like tech) HOWEVER, 95% of them DO NOT HOLD ZERO worth a damn. My Sig p290RS lasers work well. But ALL of my laser/lights from Surefire and Streamlight do not hold true.

The Sig p290RS lasers were built specifically for that gun/model while the others mount to the rails. Likely that's a crucial factor. If your LCP laser is built by Ruger for that model pistol, you may have a good experience. Otherwise, lasers on pistols are mostly to distract cats:

The Laser Max unit on my LC9s makes the pistol print more like a wallet when I pocket carry with a "slip" holster. It's also more stable within the holster, so I consider the laser to have made the pistol a bit easier to carry.

Good to know.

Having given it a lot of thought, I think laser is going to hinder my reaction time if I ever actually have to use it in a SD situation (God forbid). At best, I won’t remember about it and at worst, I’d waste a valuable second trying to find the dot. So I’ve decided against it. Also because the gun is more accurate in my hands than I expected it to be.

Have a Crimson Trace on my LCR and it goes in my pocket holster just fine and it works great. Once you get it sighted in ( mine didn't need it, was good out of the box) it is kind of amazing that you don't have to aim it like normal , from any position strong hand ,weak hand ,laying on the ground, just put the dot where you want to hit and pull the trigger. Won't ever be without mine.
