I had a Air Force Talon SS, it was my last major airgun purchase. Dialed all the way down it was my quietest air rifle (even 1-2 pump 392s or springers) the main sound being the piston/spring and get close to 500 shots per fill. Dialed all the way up you can get a little over 40 ft-lbs at the muzzle, more than enough for field-target.
A few downsides:
- slightly awkward cheek-wield, this can be mitigated with padding
- high scope mount means compensating for the difference at short ranges
Like any PCP, you need to find the "sweet spot" in the fill for maximum accuracy and the Talon's big tank makes that easier and more fruitful... once you find it you get more shots in that range.
Ultimately that tempermental nature of PCPs made me sell it off but I'd still recommend it to someone looking for a PCP. If I got frustrated with the large fill tank of the Talon, imagine how tricky it could get for the tanks on the more traditional pre-charged pnuematics.
