About once a year I get into a "gun mood". For some reason I cannot identify, I will start looking at guns, then want to buy not just one, but three or four. Happened last year...went to the shop to look at rifles, bought one, went back a week later, bought another, then had the GF about ready to faint when I said I was going back after the second rifle. (I didn't go after that reaction)...

So I am on-line today when I decide to look a shotguns and rifles, then I thought what the heck look at pistols too. I have wanted a USP since my brother bought one, I have wanted a 700 SPS since they first came out last year, and after looking at the shotgun section of this forum, I am thinking about a Rem 870 Synthetic. I am trying my hardest not to dip into my savings, but I am sure I am going to get at least one, if not all within the next month or two! Am I the only one with this problem??? I really hope the GF doesn't freak out if she sees about 1500 out of my savings!!!:what:

See the problem with me is, everytime I buy another firearm, something else comes along that I realize I want also.

So now I want a FAL. :(

I know the feeling-Bought 3 S & W'S in the past 2 months-Still looking for a Detonics 45

I am always in a gun mood that mood just seems to change very often. For example, I was in a "buy as many (evil) guns that libs especially hate mood" then I watched "Band of Brothers" and my gun mood changed to a "buy WW2 military surplus mood" so I put a down payment on a Luger.

Once a year, huh?

I go through that about every week. 99% of the time I am able to keep my wallet in my pocket, which only helps a little since I have my CC number memorized, but every once in awhile something gets through the fence.

I'm currently waiting on a .22 conversion for my Kimber 1911 and a new leather belt.

Every day of my life, my man. Some days, I think of 1911's. Other days, I think of a Walther P99. I daydream of suppressors and other things that require stamps.

But mostly, these days, I think about FN Herstal's FS2000, and I damn them for their $2000 SRP, which will go up since I know they'll sell like hotcakes on a winter's day.

Mine is not a happy life. :(

I alternate between "gun moods" and "gun accessory moods". Just spent a pile of money on an SA M1A Loaded. Now I'm looking at proper scopes and scope mounts for it. Guess what? I could easily spend what I did on the rifle for a premium scope and a mount for it. As it is, I'm gonna have to decide on what I can live with vs. what I can afford. I hate that equation...

:(

I never get out of "gun moods."

I'm still looking to fill my bound book, and trying to figure a way to afford a nice M3 (like that will ever happen).

Yes!:banghead: In fact I'm in one right now!:cuss: O.K. I guess I'd better go buy that S/A 1911 Mil Spec I need!:)

Nah, never ever

I bought the overpriced Long Branch No4 Mk1 with the 'maple' stock cause it was an investment NOT because "I been hypNOtized"..... :banghead:

Sure do. I went almost 8 months after my first two handgun purchases. I then bought a 1911 and of course had to have a commander size. :D My birthday came 'round and I had to have some tupperware (M&P & XD45). I then thought "ok. I need to back off.", so I just shot what I had for a couple months, then the urge hit me, I need a subcompact...you know the rest. :D Maybe we should start a twelve step program...nah, just need to hit the lottery  My question is does anyone else get into an ammo buying frenzy? I start getting the shakes if have anything less then 500rds of 45, .40S&W, and 9mm. :D

I always am in a gun mode lol

Problem is I never seem to have a "spare cash mode" so I rarly get the new toys I want :(

I'm the same way. I'm glad I don't sell guns often because I'll go though months, even a year perhaps completely into maybe ARs and completely uninterested in Mosin Nagants because they are rough and inaccurate. Then I'll switch and be all about old historical rifles, and uninterested in new plastic stuff. Then I'll go through a phase where I'm all about twenty twos or all into semi-auto pistols or all into revolvers.

Sometimes just opening my gun safes and trying out stuff I ignored for a while is like buying old guns all over again.

Getting a CMP M1 turned into getting a C&R

C&R turned into getting major battle rifles of WWII, plus a milspec 1911 and a M1 carbine and a K31.
Getting surplus rifles turned into getting AR, then AK, then building an AK.

Now I need a FAL. and an 03a3, and an Arisaka, and a Thompson.

In the meantime, I added to the CZ collection and now have 5 CZ pistols and 1 rifle.

And just because there wasn't a revolver represented, I had to get a Mod 10 smith.

You bet cha. I try to steer clear of gun auctions/shops because I alway see one I want. My current fetish is a smith 686. I'll see one and want to instantly buy it not thinking I can't afford one right now because I just bought a rem 742 woodsmaster that I 've always wanted but really shouldn't have bought beacause of $$$.:banghead:

Why'd ya have to mention that? I've got nearly 1000 rounds of .40 and 9mm on hand but I'm down to a couple hundred rounds of .45. :scrutiny:

Now I gotta wait 'til next payday to stock up. Or I can fire up the reloading press and crank out some rounds. Yep, looks like it's gonna be a long night tonight... :D

In the mood..... ;-)

"I really hope the GF doesn't freak out if she sees about 1500 out of my savings!!!"
Well, that depends on whether that "my" savings account is actually a JOINT bank account...!

Heck, when I get into one of those visceral 'moods' I just bite the bullet and stay OUT of the gun shop or away from the nice-used-guns counter at the indoor range. I don't like the feeling of gun-wanna-buy interruptus. I wait until I have what it takes to absorb the fiscal hit--then I BUY!!!!.

I've gone three years now without buying another gun. Am I in a "gun mood?" Oh, yeah.

Despite cash being very tight, I resolved that I would soon buy another gun, perhaps at the WCCM auction on July 18th.

But now my dog is limping, and the pads on his paw are swollen. Vets are expensive.

So, I may be in a "gun mood" for quite some time.

Since the beginning of the year, I have been in a Glock mood. It started with a 26, now I have a total of 4 Glocks in the stable...one more next week. I keep swearing that is all I need for now.

Then.....I run across some sweet wheel gun pics and think I need a few more of those too....darn it!

A cheaper way to satisfy the gun-buying mood for me is rent some different guns and shoot lots and lots of rounds through them. This works especially well with full-autos, since most of them would be way out of my price range anyway.

Yeah, everyone does. Cars, guns, technology, building stuff, it switches.

I just got a G22, and now I want to build an AK. Luckily I can't afford to(lie). So I won't. Maybe in a year. lol

edit: Yeah!! post # 223. Now I want an AR-15...
