Gun Moods... oh yeah. Kinda like crackheads get in the "crack mood". I thought I had licked it a few years ago, I had gone actually 5 years without buying a new gun. Then a relative got his C&R and now I am somehow sitting here on THR wondering, Why don't I have a Moisin Nagant? But now I want a FAL. Maybe an L1A1 or STG58. >sigh<
Ammo moods and gun moods go together. You get new guns, ya wanna shoot 'em up, that burns through ready ammo, the ammo hoarder in ya starts ringing alarm bells, "You just ran thru 800 rds of 9mm this month, better buy a couple cases! Oh yeah and 8mm Mauser is under $.10/rnd at Ammoman better buy 900 round case! And could use some more .45ACP since you are already getting the credit card and Brown Santa ready. And .308 is a pretty good deal and you DID say you wanted a FAL...And down to the last two bricks of .22LR ya know...!":(
Next thing you know there's $600 to ammo on the cc. AFTER not getting .308 since I don't own the FAL yet. Had a :cuss: $3000 credit card bill last month! There went my bonus!

Gun mood? Hmmm, yep, I'm breathing, I must be in a gun mood.

Lately, it's been an 870 kick. Before that, it was AR's and NFA weapons. (Well, since I'm an FFL/SOT, it's ALWAYS NFA weapons.) Prior to that, it was C&R's. Before that, it was Para-Ordnance LDA's. Who knows what it'll be next (besides the obvious NFA toys).

I have the secret to affording new guns.....

<In a low secretive whisper> Go to college and max out student loans. You don't have to start paying them back until you finish with college. Just don't leave. Turn that BA/BS into a MA/MS then go for a doctorate or other professional degree (JD/MD etc.) By the time your college throws you out you either land a high paying job or file bankrupcy. :D

I was out searching for 7.62X54R for my M91/30 when I found a M44 with matching numbers and an extremely bright bore. Now I find my self carrying the offical BATFE book of C&R eligible guns in my truck with a couple copies of my C&R license.

Zen, that was my plan too. It got me about half a dozen guns. Oh, yeah, and a Master's degree (which I actually use!). Of course, now that I'm paying them back, I can't afford crap. Wife & 1.5 kids cut into gun-buying funds too. As far as "gun moods"? Whenever I'm awake.

Oh man, that's classic. Nothing like hitting the nail on the head. Sure can't say I disagree. :D I started out some time ago to buy ONE gun for general home defense......well, you know the rest. :D

I get into caliber moods. Right now its a .357. Snub, Meduim frame, i dont care. I have a cravin for another .357!

Heck yeah...

First started off wanting CCW pieces.....bought everything small, large, weak and powerful.

After buying, trying, selling and swapping I ended up going thru alot of guns and only ended up with 4 keepers.

Then it was revolvers, all I thought about and looked at was revolvers.

Then it was cheapy commie guns - AKs, SKSs, Mosins.......

After that I was buying a .22 rifle of some sort almost every week....thankfully that passed in a couple months.

Currently all I can think about is M1 Garands......
