Does anyone have a chart or list that shows all gun calibers or atlest a lot and shows which is more powerful than the other? I have gun debates about 9mm/.45/357/ then the rifle odd ball calibers, I have no clue which is the better rifle round I always hear odd ball calibers for hunters. 7.62x54R has a big bang, .50bmg is a big bang. I hear of 45-70 30-30 30-06 for hunting then others say some odd ball caliber for hunting... Thanks for you're help.

Oh yeah and sometimes people say shotgun with slugs is better than a rifle round?? and 10mm I heard its just about the same as a .357??

No problem.

A new edition comes out every 3 years or so. When they do my old dog-eared copy gets passed onto someone in need.

Believe it or not, Wikipedia is a pretty good source. Go there and search: handgun ammunition" or "rifle ammunition".
They also have some good photos of various cartridges side by side so you can compare.

One of the best lists on any website I've ever seen is at www.reloadersnest.com . Click on "RIFLE" or "HANDGUN" for whichever you're looking for. They also have a bunch of wildcats listed there, and many loads. Including an almost 5300 fps .22 centerfire, and a 14000+ ft-lb .700 NE.
