Not a .380 but I did have the 405 which is the same concept only in 40sw. The guns seem to be built very well but have the same flaw. Pocket carry triggers. The pull on the triggers is overkill and was likely done as a safety measure for deep concealment type carry as the guns were intended when designed. For someone with poor hand strength, arthritis, etc they are difficult to operate. I would not feel I was doing my mother right by trading in her slide operation issue for a trigger operation issue.
There are people making “wings” or cocking aids that lock into the serrations on slides for many guns. That’s where I would be looking if I were you. Yes it adds a little mass to the slide, but a spring trim would fix the functional issues that could come from the added mass.
This advice is worth what you paid for it.
