I'm converting my 590 Shockwave to a 20" shotgun and am trying to do it as inexpensively as possible. I have a Mesa Tactical stock adapter with a pistol grip that I could add an adjustable stock to but don't think I'll use it due to the more difficult access to the safety.
I've had a 500 with the Hogue 12" LOP stock on it but that thing is "grabby". I've thought about the Magpul stock but then I would want to change the forend and that's just more money. I've seen some Choate tactical/youth stocks that are reasonably priced but haven't seen much in the way of feedback.
So, anyone here use a Choate stock?

Choate has been making various shotgun stocks for many years.
These are excellent basic shotgun stocks, and before other companies began making synthetic stocks, a lot of police guns were retro fitted with Choate stocks.
Many shotgunners wanting something more durable then wood bought Choate.

In the 70's when the "combat shotgun" became a Thing, Choate was the go-to if you didn't want a wood stock.
I've never heard of anyone having a problem with one.

Their standard type stock was probably the first synthetic shotgun stock widely available and a lot of people bought them.
They used to advertise that you could batter out a car windshield or batter down a door and the stock was still good to go.

So, they're not the latest super stocks, but are entirely usable.

dfariswheel's assessment is spot on. And since there are better options available, I'll recommend my favorite: Speed Feed.
