I had a Mako AR 15 stock adapter for a Mossberg 500, it was okay but the angles were extreme to use with a red dot scope. I just bolted on a Mesa Tactical high tube adapter and it is much more comfy for a good cheek weld with a scope. The Mesa Tactical adapter keeps the same angles and alignment of an AR 15 which I am pretty familiar with. I even find myself reaching for the thumb safety with this stock, I think I will make an adapter to activate the safety with your thumb sometime later.

Before with the Mako

After with the Mesa Tactical (and longer barrel and mag tube)

About 750 bucks inluding the gun, still cheaper than one of them fancy Nighthawk or Wilson rigs. But of course I probably got about 200 bucks selling off the original parts. I just built it slowly and looked for deals when I could find them, the Aimpoint was only 274 bucks, I got the Surefire forend off GB, and the barrel and mag tube I swapped my old 28 inch barrel for on this fine forum. All in all it was about 2 years in the making.

You can buy my Mako adapter in the WTS accessories riight now for 35 bucks. :)

I'm strictly a standard stock guy as much as I'd like to like AR type setups. It is definitely cheaper than the Wilson Nighthawk setups which I'd never consider anyway...at least you went quaklity on the red dot which arent my thing either but you know the aimpoint will stand up to the recoil and at least be covered if it doesn't...how do you like the 20" compared to the 18.5?

Is that what you would grab for the "a bump in the night" scenario?

At the very least it seems way long for HD purposes unless you live in a very very large roomy house. Looks like a good setup for three-gun comp or range fun though.

Nah I grab my carry pistol to fight my way to my AR15 for bumps in the night. If there is a wild house party or something odd in the neighboorhood the AR goes next to the bed. This is for range /competition use, but to be honest the extra 1.5 inches isn't noticeable.

I would have no problem using this in my home it is just I am far more familiar with ARs, hence the whole reason my shotgun is rigged this way. I will probably be looking into AR styled stock option for a bolt gun next all because of the great ergos.

I find it swings better probably from all the weight up front. I just wanted the longer mag tube and they don't make mag extensions for M500s. As I said earlier I would have no problem going room to room with this guns, hell some people still do it with a 28 inch vent rib!
